The ‘Shikhi Program’ is being successfully implemented by the Hidayah Foundation in Kishamat Bagdah village of Chengthi Hazaradanga Union, No. 10, Debiganj Upazila, Panchagarh district.
The main objective of this project is to provide religious knowledge, necessary education for daily life and self-reliance skills to backward women in rural areas.
Under the program, women are taught—
Sahih Quran recitation,
Basic knowledge of Bengali language,
Importance of Islamic way of life,
Masla-Masayel, necessary prayers and Islamic etiquette with great care.
Not only religious education, women are also made aware of primary medical knowledge and cattle rearing, which is helping them to become economically strong and self-reliant.
Last Ramadan, 120 women participated in this program. Out of these, 28 women have completed Sahih Quran education. Currently, this program is ongoing regularly and has generated a huge response among rural women.
This initiative of Hidayah Foundation has undoubtedly become a shining example of increasing rural women’s education, religious consciousness, and social awareness.
