Distribution of Iftar and Ramadan Food
This event by the Hidayah Foundation is intended to provide some relief, at least during the days of Ramadan, to those who struggle with poverty in their daily lives.
Project Details
While many of us in the cities enjoy a variety of foods for iftar — fruits, juices, dates, and sweets — countless families in rural or impoverished areas break their fast with only water and a single date. They observe the sanctity of Ramadan with devotion but are deprived of proper nourishment due to poverty and uncertainty.
To address this reality, Hidayah Foundation organizes the Iftar and Ramadan Food Distribution Program every year. The aim is to bring relief and joy to underprivileged families during the holy month of Ramadan.
From the beginning of Ramadan, volunteers prepare lists of needy families and distribute food packages containing essentials such as rice, lentils, oil, sugar, chickpeas, onions, and dates — enough for a week’s meals. In some areas, freshly cooked iftar boxes (including khichuri, fruits, water, and dates) are distributed daily before sunset.
This project is not merely about distributing food — it is a gesture of empathy, unity, and brotherhood. By sharing a small portion of what we have, we can help others experience the blessings of Ramadan.
